What is Fashion

For me, fashion is not only clothing, accessories or luxury brands. Fashion is how we see our world, living with the attitudes we believe in and sharing viewpoints to find out better solutions to benefit others.

I would love to deliver this core concept through each step in the course and rebuild the joyful, playful and enjoyable atmosphere to do the design, then deeply think about every decision we made in the design progress to make our design meaningful and beneficial to yourself, surrounding, society, environment or even our planet.

Drapping in your view

Draping from nature is an experimental conversation by rotating doing draping to practice how to find a balance the beauty from different angles. Participants also use the whole size of end-of-roll fabric without any waste to think about how could they contribute sustainability through fashion practice.

Observation of Textile,
Discovery of Human nature

In the current fashion education system, we are well-educated by how to transfer the physical inspiration into our design logically and reasonable, but we forget the happiness, play and unexpected result of design.

In this course, participants only have minimal materials, facilities and time to do the design; they have scissors and hand as facilities, some remained fabric from end-of-rolls and 3 minutes for each swatch.

Works from the students at the course, Sheng Tsai’s work “ Illustration “ on Tokyo Fashion Grand Prix Awards and Liberty Ting’s sustainable work is presented at Ecotopia sustainable fashion design competition exhibition.
